Thato Molamu (born 2 December 1984 in Mafikeng, North West) is a well-known and celebrated South African actor.
The actor grabbed the attention of television viewers with his bratty role on Generations. He was cast on the SABC1 soap opera as Nicholas Nomvete.
He is also into other professions including philanthropy, brand and marketing strategizing. Thato is also a creative director and social entrepreneur.

However, his love for acting could be traced down to his tender age. During his days in high school, he was an average student.
The Grandball and Jack in the Box are among the shows he appeared in during his tender days.
He enrolled at Damelin College for a Film and Broadcasting course in 2005. At the North West Art Council, Thato was a regular actor this made the love he had for arts (acting) wax stronger.
His role as devious Nicholas Nomvete on the soap opera Generations played role in raising him to prominence. Thato joined the show as a cast member in 2011 and played the role until 2014.
The actor has landed several notable roles in the entertainment industry. In 2010, he joined Intersexion as Tshepo and played the role of TK Morare in Umlilo in 2015.
In 2016, he appeared in the second season of Mfolozi Street as Tshepang and as Maru Makhetha in Greed & Desire.
In 2019, he was cast in Losing Lerato. He has also theatre and musical credits. Appearing on stage he has performed on Amidsumer Nights Dream in 20001, Romeo and Juliet in 2008, and Meropa in 2006.
Apart from his onscreen performance he is a radio personality and has landed several roles in commercials.
Thato was a host on a radio show on East Coat Radio, Durban. In 2014, he hosted What’s Behind the Wall, a reality television game show.
He is active in the business including establishing his company – Gateway Media in 2013.
In a bid to give back to society, Thato established The Thato Molamu Foundation.
The NPO was established in 2012 primarily to help the less advantaged. They achieve this objective by transforming their lives.
Thato has had several romantic affairs. Though, the popular personality worked with some on similar projects. He dated Bongi Ndaba and Xoli Zondi.
His love life with Bongi drew the attention of many to them, though he is a decade younger than the talented scriptwriter, they seemed to be in love.
The love they shared made them a son. With time came rumors claiming that his love life with the head writer had favored his role on Generations.
Thato refused to keep mute, in an interview session with DRUM Magazine, he denied the allegations. He has also dated Xoli Zondi, an actress in Generations.
Thato has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry which has earned him enough to live a life of luxury.
He drives a luxurious car – Jaguar. Reports covered that the media personality was once drunk driving and was also seen while he left the courthouse.
