Rob van Vuuren (born 26 March 1976 in Nelson Mandela Bay) is a South African actor. He rose to prominence for the exceptional display of his acting talent in each role he plays.
Many television viewers know him for playing the role of Twakkie in The Most Amazing Show, an SABC2 comedy series, for a year (2006-2007).
He is also popular for appearing as one of the ten celebrity contestants in Strictly Come Dancing. With his coach and partner, Mary Martin, he entered season 5 of the SABC2 reality competition.
He doubles up his profession with comedy, directing theatre productions, hosting shows, and dancing. Rob is a multi-talented and celebrated personality in the entertainment circle.

He has two siblings, a brother, and sister, and hails from a humble background. Listeners of his comedies would agree that he centers his comedies on “real experiences”.
His interest in acting dates back to his teenage days in high school. When he and his family resided in Grahamstown, he attended the National Arts Festival with other students.
The performance he witnessed made him fall in love with art. In an interview session, he shared that his mother provided him with support and mentorship.
Rob had his high school education at Maritzburg College and completed his studies in 1993.
He then enrolled to study Drama at Rhodes University. After his academic programs were complete, he graduated with an Hons degree in 1997.
He is a writer, producer, and actor, and has several three one-man shows and two two-man shows credits.
Rob has also written, produced, and starred in several other television shows including The Most Amazing Show alongside Louw Venter.
He has also appeared in many movies including Shark Attack 2, The Bone Snatcher, and Footskating 101. As an actor, he also appeared in Crazy Monkey Presents Straight Outta Benoni, and Bunny Chow.
Since 2007, Rob has voiced the role of Frothy The Bear in URBO: The Adventures of Pax Afrika, an animated TV series.
Since 2006, he has also been the host of Crazy Games, an SABC2 action-comedy game show. In 2008, he was honored to perform at Madiba’s ninetieth Birthday bash in Qunu (his hometown) for him and his guests.
As a television host, he hosted the SABC2 reality competition SA Got Talent alongside Anele Modada in 2009.
In 2008, he appeared among other celebrity contestants who entered Strictly Come Dancing season 5 alongside his partner and coach Mary Martin.
In the finale of the competition, Rob and Mary emerged winners of the competition on 4 December 2008.
Rob van Vuuren is married to Amy Humphrey. The comedian actor and his wife became a married couple on 30 October 2017. They had a wedding ceremony in Weaverville. Rob met the love of his life in 2014 in a volunteer program at Mercy Ships.
He revealed that together with his wife adopted a colored child. The couple decided to adopt the new member into their family after they had “medical troubles to have a child”.
