Mampho Brescia (born 8 December 1977 in Johannesburg) is a South African actress and television presenter. She is also a brand ambassador and voice artist.

She rose to prominence after appearing in the M-Net drama series Jacob’s Cross as Zanele. Another acting credit that walked her into the lime is Iris Zungu in Isibaya.

The veteran actress has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades. She made her debut appearance in 1998 and has appeared in many television serials and shows.

Background

She was born in Johannesburg on 8 December 1977. Mampho grew up under the care of her parents in Soweto. 

Education

She had her primary and secondary education in Johannesburg. Mampho then enrolled to study International Relations at the University of Witwatersrand.

More on her qualification is a 2-year stint in Japan. She began to study in 2000 after benefiting from a scholarship. This earned her a place as an “exchange student” at Soka University.

Husband

Mampho Brescia is married to Nicola Brescia. The couple exchanged their marital vows in 2005. In 2016, they adopted a new member into their family, their first daughter. 

The name of her daughter is Rain. The actress resides in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Mampho Brescia is popular for her role in the M-Net drama series Jacob’s Cross.

The talented actress played the role of Zanele in Jacob’s Cross, an M-Net drama series.

She kicked off as a professional television career in 1998 after landing a job as a presenter on Reality Check. In 2002 came her debut acting role on television. 

She was cast as a guest star in Generations, an SABC1 soap opera.

In 2003, Mampho landed a job as a presenter for AfriSat. She became an on-site live presenter on Imali Mania, a game show on SABC1, in 2004.

She did a commercial for Telkom and filmed nine weeks of inserts for Nokia Challenge, an M-Net advertorial series.

In 2005, landed a freelance presenting join for DStv’s The Home Channel. At the same time, she appeared in corporate videos for the Department of Tourism and Standard Bank.

In 2006 and 2008, she appeared in Isindigo, an SABC3 soap opera, as Batsi. Mampho also was cast in Traum Hotel, a German feature film. 

She also has done many commercials for many top brands and worked as a presenter and voice-over artist for Spirit Sundae, an SABC1 religion show.

She was cast in another feature film District 9 and did several voiceovers for DStv.

Mampho was cast as Iris Zungu, a starring role, in Isibaya, a telenovela-turned-soap-opera.

She is fluent in four languages including English, Sotho, English, and Zulu. When not acting she enjoys visiting the gym or playing squash.
