Jerry Phele (born 1 July 1956 in Free State) is a South African actor. He rose to prominence for appearing in many television serials. A notable role in his acting profession is Mofokeng in Emzini Wezinisizwa.

He has also landed several starring roles in other notable television serials like The Throne and Skwizas.

He has also engaged in politics and was a candidate for the African Content Movement in the 2019 general election.

Jerry was born on 1 July 1956 in Free State, South Africa. The renowned actor boasts of over four decades in the entertainment industry. He started his profession in 1977 and has been active until date.

He entered the film industry and was featured in Boikie Motlhamme’s production, Mahlomola. He was also cast in Lord, Why and in the musical Amen.

Phele is married to Sesinyane and their union is blessed with having two sons, Kgaogelo and Ntshepe, and one daughter, Lesedi.

Career

The South African actor is popular for starring as Mofokeng in Emzini Wezinsizwa, an SABC1 sitcom (1994-2003). He has also made earlier appearances in other television serials and more ever since.

He landed another starring role in Khululeka, an SABC1 edutainment series. Jerry also appeared as a cast in the SABC2 sitcom Skwizas (season 2).

He played another starring role in 2013 as Bra Seputla in Samsokolo. The character in the Mzansi Magic sitcom is a scheming taxi driver.

In 2018, Jerry landed another starring role in the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Throne. He was cast as Motsamai, a village joker who has more knowledge than first meets the eye.
